Neill Sanders was a top London hornist in the middle years of the last century. He designed this very wide, slightly concave rim to spread the pressure and increase indurance. It is especially well suited for players who are wearing braces or who have to play while marching. Most mellophone mouthpieces can be adapted to take this rim.
