Over the years, Osmun Music has modified hundreds of trumpet mouthpieces for our orchestral trumpet customers. We have designed a series of mouthpieces that encompass the most popular sizes and modifications that will suit the orchestral trumpeter. The Symphonic Series Trumpet Mouthpieces were specifically designed for C trumpet (they work just as well on Bb) to make intonation more manageable and produce the desired orchestral sound. We designed the mouthpieces with the most requested modifications, size 24 throats and our Osmun Symphonic sized backbores. Because we initially make the Symphonic Series Mouthpieces with those modifications, the entrace of the throat has a smoother transition and the length of the throat is precise. Osmun Music uses CNC technology to manufacture the Symphonic Series, so not only are they consistent, but can be easily modified if a customer wanted a slightly different spec(s). The Osmun Symphonic Series are availible in three diameters(1C, 1.25C, and 1.5C). All mouthpieces have the same medium-deep "C" style cup and traditional style rim. Availible in silver or gold.

Schilke Trumpet Mouthpieces have been at the forefront of the industry for decades. Osmun Music stocks most Schilke Mouthpieces and can order any custom Schilke pieces for you. All Schilke Trumpet Mouthpieces can be ordered with a cornet shank.

Curry TF or TC mouthpieces for trumpet.

TF Cup: Not a flugelhorn cup on a trumpet blank, but a brand new design. It incorporates the depth of sound you get on a flugel piece without the excessive cup volume that makes those style mouthpieces difficult to play. In trumpet shank only.

TC Cup: The TC or trumpet cornet cup is a slightly shallower version of the popular TF cup. The TC is a great mouthpiece choice for those who prefer a huge sound with brightness, and a staggering core.

Both mouthpieces available in all standard and 600 Curry rims. The TC in a cornet shank is also available upon request.

The Osmun 3C* Trumpet Mouthpiece is a unique blend of old and new mouthpiece design. The cup is based off an old vintage Tottle 3C Star Mouthpiece. It is not as bowl-shaped as a Bach 3C and slightly shallower. The rim is a basic "3" diameter with a comfortable bite with enough room under the edge to produce crisp articulation. They come standard with a 26 throat. The backbore is our standard "1" backbore, which is slightly bigger than a standard Bach 10 backbore. This Osmun 3C* was designed for the trumpeter who wants a "little more" from their basic 3C mouthpiece. It also will work well as a lead mouthpiece for the trumpeter who normally plays larger orchestral sized mouthpieces.

Service: Open Mouthpiece Throat

The stock throat in most trumpet mouthpieces (and many horn mouthpieces) is the smallest practical size, usually 27 or 28 for trumpet and 16-17 for horn. This used to be called a "pilot hole" and it was assumed that most players would enlarge it. A larger throat reduces resistance and can also balance a large or deep cup. Bore sizes in the range 18-26 work well with trumpets. Most hornists feel most comfortable with a throat in the 10-16 range. Larger sizes work best with very large cups.
